March 27th a quartet consisting of two of free music's innovators, German Pianist Alexander von Schlippenbach and Britain's drummer Eddie Prévost will be joined by saxophonist Alan Wilkinson and Canadian double bass player Joe Williamson

German pianist Alex von Schlippenbach and British percussionist Eddie Prévost are among the most significant figures in modern European music. Having laid the foundations of the European improvised avant garde - Prévost working with AMM since 1965 and Schlippenbach leading his eponymous trio from 1970 - these two musicians have gone on to build, extend, maintain and refine unique, sonic schools that draw on elements of jazz, avant-garde composition and above all, their power and energy for invention.

Despite their paths having crossed since the 1970s, this new quartet is Prévost and Schlippenbach’s first collaboration. Promising audiences a journey into a genuinely new music, this concert is a testament to the duo’s exploration of music’s past, present and future.
