The Frakture Big Band has become an important part of Liverpool’s musical life, acting as a conduit for musical exchanges, a meeting point for musical experimenters and a living laboratory for the experimental minded. Participation in the Frakture Big Band can vary between 5 and 15.

Initially The Frakture Big Band was managed by Phil Hargreaves and became a distinctive creative music ensemble. After a period of change it became a more informal “pick-up” band or private rehearsal ensemble.

Recently the The Frakture Big Band has evolved into a projects-ensemble that re-invents its own personnel, criteria and creative method as appropriate to each project.

The Frakture Big Band is currently being curated and managed by Adam Webster and Phil Morton.

Got an idea, proposal, do you want a piece played? Fill in the proposal form, [here] or view the menu. Send Frakture your ideas in writing and we can discuss it and try to turn it into an action and performance.
