Damo Suzuki Big Band Function
Damo Suzuki, Frakture Big Band.
Wednesday 14th November 2007
The Magnet , 45 Hardman Street
Liverpool, L1 9AS. more info
The Man from Can returns to Liverpool to play with the Frakture Big Band for an evening of Frakass, kerfuffle, and music.
This will be The Frakture Big Bands first outing since The Oratory recording session in March 2006: which is quite a break. During this period there has been many changes within and without Frakture and possibly a few musicians may have perceived it as a defunct / extinct ensemble. This is not the case and here is an opportunity to re-convene.
As stated elsewhere the FBB now re-invents iteself specifically for each project, there is no fixed on-going membership more musicians who have particpated in past performances and rehearsals who may wish to play again in the future.
To register an interest in the Damo Suzuki gig read the follwoing guidlines or notes and complete the form [ here ]
Damo Suzuki Concert: Guidlines and random notes
- See the Damo Suzki page, view YouTube therein, his own website, reflect on his past & style, then decide if you would like to participate.
- Membership and participation: all musician are eligable to apply, Adam Webster & Phil Morton will shortlist in the event of over-subscription.
- The content and perforamce is likely to be loud, groove driven, fullfilling the traditional jam format. This is a departure from previous quieter electro-acoustic presentations by The Frakture Biug Band; this is also reflected in the choice of venue and potential audience.
- There maybe a need for a pre-Nov 14th rehearsal
- There is a concert format suggestion : 2 sets, 1st set small groups. Second set to include full line. However if there is a rehearsal [without damo] we can discuss the concert format then.
- Prior to the concert everyone will be informed who is playing
- Fee: At present there is no fee for the musicians, however unlike the Splash Gig format any surplus from the door maybe re-distributed following discussion with the musicians involved.
What next?
Complete the on-line form ASAP. If you wish to participate.
