June FRAKASS saw the last ever show by the infamous Plectrum. Now we're back again with more noisy treats for our legions of fans!
And what a line up we've got for you this time! There's the immersive soundworld of Amos, intense Japanese speedcore from NoiZY aZ FuCK, and ambient electronics from Focal Gaol. Plus there's visuals courtesy of Noise Club, and Hostile Dude ... Party will be spinning the discs for us.
On top of all that we've got the noisy antics of the FRAKASS MEGAPHONE CHOIR!

Disco music from the future
I saw Amos's Music for Sleeping last year at the Bluecoat and was blown away! They actually had complaints from people in the audience about too much bass!!! Amos sold out at the Bluecoat two nights in a row - this is must-see stuff!
Amos is the alter-ego of Tom Rea Smith, named after the late owner of the finest sideys in Yorkshire, and a biblical proto-socialist with a fine line in wrath. Visuals are provided by the awesome Sam Meech.
Amos is intense, immersive, dark & light, despairing & hopeful...
They're actually working on an opera at the moment, 'Johnny Viral Against the Machine'. The libretto's being written by Richard Hughes from Bossfilm and Andy Hunt of a.P.a.t.T in collaboration with Tom. Should be around in October 2011. Can’t wait to see that! http://www.tomreasmith.com /.

FOCAL GAOL
Deep reflections in the land of sound
Glenn from Focal Gaol gave me a gig a while back, and I'm made up to be able to repay the favour as these guys really know how to entertain! From crazy psychedelic noise one moment, they'll suddenly break into a groove so infectious you can't help but get carried along with it!
Focal Gaol started life as an offshoot of ambient electronics group, Aurelie, providing a forum for live improvisation and developing work by individual members. Formed in 2007, they've played at Kurt Schwitters' Merzbarn as well as supporting acts like Anti-Pop Consortium and Volcano the Bear.
The rotating line up includes: Jim Tetlow (percussion), Dave Dhonau (cello/bass), Glenn Boulter (guitar, electronics), Ola Szmidt (flute) and John Hall (laptop / gramophone). http://focalgaol.bandcamp. com/

HOSTILE DUDE PARTY
I played a gig a while ago where Hostile Dude Party was DJing... one of the best DJ sets I've heard! Hostile Dude Party (a.k.a. Andrew Ellis, a.k.a. Samizdat) is the perfect mix of the sublime and the ridiculous, from harsh industrial noise to disco, from tripped-out electronica to free jazz, and everything in between. It should be so wrong, but it ends up so right!
