SWIM : Sound Workshops in Music

SWIM: is a new subset of Frakture exploring the area of Free Improvisation within workshops, in a variety of settings ;formal; non-formal, and informal.

SWIM's main current activity is the delivery of workshops for Frakture, we are now looking to expand delivery to third parties and build upon the sucesses we have already have.

• SNAP: workshops in free improvisation exploring its nature and pratice; carrying forward the ideas of John Steves; Maggie Nicols; Eddie prevost.
• VISITING ARTISTS : e.g. Eddie Prevost Sessions; Phil Minton's Feral Choir; Maggie Nicols; Paul Hession; Carlos Zingaro (Portugal).
• VOCAL PLAY, voice workshops
• i:Object : innovative new workshops exploring objects rather than instruments as a sound / musicical source. Also includes "sound acting" and distinctive & enjoyable session plan
• POOL OF SOUND & SOUNDWALKS: take a journey to undiscovered places! means of transport YOUR SENSES! Phil Mortons' acoustic ecology sessions include ear cleaning and exploring the world of sound; as a sensory exploration & experience rather than a judgemental segmentation of the soundscape into noise/music etc.
