Playing The Voice: a day workshop about improvising that uses voice work as a way of exploring personal development

How can you find your voice? Have you already? What do you do with it once you have?

Do you get in the way of yourself? What could you do about that?

if you knew would you want to?

What’s going to happen?

We’ll play games and make pieces which offer structures and processes that focus on playfulness, listening, presence and making it up as you go along. You’ll be supported in an exploration of exactly how YOU respond when you don’t know what’s going to happen next and in what that has to do with the rest of your life. It’s an experience people often find challenging and liberating.

Who’s it for?

Singers and ‘non-singers’. youth, social, education and health workers. Tinkers soldiers sailors……..Anyone interested in looking at how to improvise with their voices and exploring what that process has to teach them about their own emotional dynamics and personal expression.

Who’s running it?

As a musician he’s an improviser before he’s a vocalist or percussionist. He has a wealth of experience in education, community and performing and wrote the percussion chapter for  "Community Music: A Handbook"
