Three acts of creative contemporary music and sounds for the modern
ear.
Rhodri Davies & Ben Drew:
Rhodri Davies (Harp & Electronics) makes his ( ) visit to Frakture
with a new name and new face to Frakture Ben Drew on Laptop.
Rhodri Davies is an improvising harpist who confronts traditional
concepts of the harp through his use of preparations, detuned,
bowed and e-bowed strings.
Influenced by live electronics, music-concrete and electronica
he is particularly interested in exploring noise, silence, texture
and abstract sound on his
acoustic instrument and especially working with musicians who
utilize electronics. He has been based in London since 1995. He
has since performed in America, Japan, Canada and Europe.
He also performs and researches contemporary classical
music. He has commissioned the following composers to
develop new works for the harp; James Saunders, John
White, Catherine Kontz, Michael Parsons, Laurence
Crane and John Lely.

Steve Boyalnd : Voice and Jonathan Raisin Piano give their second
performance within the Frakture programme following their successful
debut at Splash 9 at St Brides Church.
Vessels
Vessels is a special performance by Ray Dickaty, saxophone; Phil
Morton, can and Trevor Beach ambiance They will be playing a "composed
piece" by Phil Morton as part of his forthcoming mini CD series
featuring the "Can". This performance features the more
delicate and discreet sounds on the "can" with Trevor
Beach supplying a tape piece this work has a reflective contemporary
electro-acoustic feel to it.
