John Jasnoch

John Jasnoch

From 1978 John Jasnoch began performing music that was primarily or entirely improvised. Upon moving to Sheffield in 1980 he made contact with the group of musicians who were to become his main collaborators for the next 25 years including Charlie Collins, Rob Dainton, Martin Archer and Helmut Lemke. During this time he has played widely in mainland Europe and North America both as a soloist and in groups with, among others, Jeffrey Morgan, Wally Shoup and LaDonna Smith. Was a participant in the 1988 Company Week.
Current focus of activity includes The Navigators and the Para-Music Ensemble (quartet with Scott Hawkins, Richard Head and Charlie Collins).

Charlie Collins - vibraphone, waterphone, mbiras, metal

Charlie Collins

Charlie Collins background in performance/improvisation and poetry/jazz led to involvement in the nascent 1970's industrial scene. As a founder member of ClockDVA and The Box he recorded for cult labels Industrial, Fetish and Doublevision.
Through the 1980's Collins played with Derek Bailey, Mick Beck's Feetpackets and The Modum Quartet and since 1992 has also been a member of industrial percussion
group Left Hand Right Hand. His record production skills at The Sound Kitchen led to being house producer for Martin Archer's Discus Records.
He continues to perform live with poets Geraldine Monk and Alan Halsey and has recently toured the live soundtrack to Teinosuke Kinugasa's "Page of Madness . He is one of a handful of musicians to have played both Company Week and Top of the Pops (with Moloko).

Beatrix Ward-Fernandez - violin, theremin, wood,

Beatrix Ward-Fernandez

Raised in Rota, Cadiz. Beatrix Ward-Fernandez began classical violin training on her move to England. Played a wide variety of musics and has improvising experience with, among others, Martin Archer, Mick Beck, Pat Thomas and J.D. Parran. Her wish to experiment with the use of electronics in an acoustic context (plus her love of the instrument) has led to her unique use of the Theremin in improvised music. She is currently a member of The Navigators (with Charlie Collins and John Jasnoch), ASK and Mick Beck's large ensemble The Gated Community.

This is Beatrix's first visit to Frakture
