REVOLVER! are a young and energetic improv-duo from Oslo, Norway.

Kim Johannesen and Fredrik Kirkevold established Revolver! to explore new and dynamic expressions, ranging from total silence to total noise. The duo have studied under famous Scandinavian improvisers David Stackenäs and Ivar Grydeland, and have toured extensively in Norway and Sweden.

Personnel: Kim Johannesen [gitar]:
Is currently a last year student at the jazz department at the State Academy of Music in Oslo, where he studies improvisation under the supervision of Ivar Grydeland (Huntsville, Tony Oxley Project 1, Hiss with Pat Thomas etc.) Has just released a CD with the Norwegian saxophonist Petter Wettre called Appetite for Structure, and is member of a new exciting group with the legendary Norwegian free jazz-saxophonist Frode Gjerstad. Has played at all the largest Norwegian jazz festivals like Molde Int. Jazzfestival, Oslo Jazzfestival, Kongsberg Jazzfestival, Dolajazz, UngJazz and Nattjazz, as well as international festivals like Copenhagen Jazzfestival and Murmansk Jazzfestival.

Fredrik Kirkevold [drums]:
Is currently a student at the jazz department at the Conservatory in Trondheim. Has worked as a freelance musician for several years, and plays besides REVOLVER! in other Norwegian groups like Bullbuzz and Snag. Has done several concerts thru Norway and other Scandinavian countries. Is mainly working with different types of improvised music and drumming in the tradition of Paal Nilssen-Love, Han Bennink and Tony Oxley with a more rockish approach.
